Business Community Membership

membership

A corporate membership with the Arts & Business Council of New York (ABC/NY) engages your employees and clients in the New York arts community.  Benefits include volunteer opportunities, training for arts board service, networking, and benchmarking. If your company is interested in furthering its strategic philanthropy, community relations, or economic development goals, an ABC/NY membership can maximize the effectiveness of your support of the arts. (Note: your membership can also be expanded to the national level, serving employees and clients across the United States. And coming soon: small business memberships and creative industry memberships.)

Benefits

Annual corporate membership, serving an unlimited number of employees and clients, is currently available at the $5,000; $10,000; and $25,000 levels. Download a benefits comparison chart (pdf, 58KB).

Corporate membership affords an array of employee benefits such as:

Giving Back to the Community
We offer a range of volunteer placement/training options—from project-based pro bono consulting work to one-time/team-building or family experiences—with groups of every arts discipline.

Developing Nonprofit Board Experience
We help build leadership skills of employees who are currently arts board members and provide orientation/placement for employees interested in serving on nonprofit arts boards.

Enhancing Professional Skills
We present workshops, forums, and programs, which provide opportunities for company managers and executives to serve as panelists/presenters, share their business expertise and insight, and develop public speaking and leadership skills within New York City’s vibrant nonprofit arts community.

Networking
We extend invitations to special events throughout the year, such as the annual Encore Awards, that bring together peers in the business community and leaders in the arts community.

National Membership
ABC/NY is a division of the national nonprofit Americans for the Arts, which can provide relationships with arts communities in every state and a network of referrals to arts contacts and volunteer opportunities outside of New York. Our national members gain access to Americans for the Arts resources such as arts-based corporate training programs (NYC-based Creativity Connection) for which members receive discounted services, and a research department (based in Washington, DC) which can provide services such as benchmarking for corporate arts giving and assessing economic impact of philanthropy.

Project Support
To meet strategic philanthropy goals, ABC/NY members are also offered opportunities for both national and New York project support in the following areas:

  • Professional Development
  • Leadership Development
  • Cultural Tourism
  • Volunteerism

With all project support, ABC/NY will negotiate print and electronic recognition, press/media recognition, and, as appropriate, additional employee/client opportunities.
