WHEN: Wednesday, October 21, 6:30pm
WHAT: How to Plan a Successful Creative Conversation (Including a Better Title Than This One)
WHY: Throughout the year ELNYA plans and coordinates Creative Conversations independently and in partnership with other organizations. We are always looking for event coordinators and ideas! Come to an evening of discussion and brainstorming to find out what ELNYA is currently working on, pitch an idea or two, and get to know other emerging leaders in the New York community.
WHERE: The Tank, 354 West 45th Street
HOW: This event is free of charge. Please register with Americans for the Arts here.
WHEN: Monday, October 26, 6:00pm
WHAT: Arts & Social Entrepreneurship
WHY: Join ELNYA for a Creative Conversation exploring the intersection of passion-driven mission, market-responsive business discipline, and creative innovation. Can the arts both benefit from social enterprise and contribute solutions to other societal needs? How does the social enterprise model differ from traditional arts management? What are arts funders looking for and how can established organizations learn to realize broad social impact? Our guests will include: Ryan Fix of PURE Project, Lara Galinsky of Echoing Green, Adam Huttler of Fractured Atlas, and Risë Wilson of The Laundromat Project.
WHERE: WNYC’s Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street, Manhattan
HOW: A $10 cash participation fee will be collected at the door. Please register with Americans for the Arts here.
WHEN: November 2009, TBD
WHAT: An Evening with Executive Leadership
WHY: This Creative Conversation is meant to be an opportunity for participants to have an intimate and open conversation with arts industry leaders about the role of emerging leaders in today's organizations. Specifically, we are interested in how senior executives view the role of mid-level staff, what opportunities they see for this level of employee, how can we bridge the gap from low/mid-management to more senior positions and what are the characteristics/qualities senior leaders are looking for from this level of employee? While we pose a few questions below, we expect participants to come with pertinent questions/topics they would like to discuss.
HOW: Stay turned for date, speakers, venue, and other event details.
