Benefits
Membership gives you access to all Arts & Business Council of New York programming:
Volunteer Development Need help with projects in strategic planning, marketing, finance, technology, or communications? We have pro bono consultants with specific skills, willing to commit meaningful time to your organization. The Business Volunteers for the Arts program is your matchmaker. Our new Board Training and Recruitment services will bring strength and vitality to the leadership of your organization.
Professional Development Whether you are creating a marketing plan for the first time, looking to train new staff, or topping-off your veteran marketing tool box, National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP) workshops give you what you need to succeed. Ten workshops in 2007 cover branding, corporate and small business partnerships, audience development, e-marketing, research, and more. Additional workshops outside of the NAMP series address topics such as board development and leadership transition planning. Our National Arts Forum Series convenes dynamic panels on issues relevant to both the arts and business sectors, such as our most recent theme of the arts as a workforce development tool.
Leadership Development Invest in your most valuable resource—your staff—with special training through the Arts Leadership Institute. Or perhaps you have a special project that could use some help from a college intern over the summer. Our Arts Management Internships program brings the talent and enthusiasm of diverse undergraduates to your staff. We are also starting an Emerging Leaders of New York City networking group to give the city’s young arts administrators opportunities to build contacts in the field and grow outside their everyday work.
Economic Development In 2007–2008, we will regrant more than $200,000 in cash and technical assistance for Cultural Tourism Initiative efforts throughout the state. Arts groups can get seed money, develop lasting for-profit partnerships, and expand audiences.
Other benefits of membership include:
Exposure: Have your organization’s name and website promoted on this website and qualify to have your event chosen as the monthly staff and/or volunteer pick on our homepage.
Recognition: Serve on the nominating committee for the annual Encore Awards, which celebrates your corporate partners, administrative leadership, star trustee or volunteer—in front of a broad audience of arts and corporate peers.
Networking Opportunities: Meet, mingle, and share with colleagues from both the arts and business communities at all ABC/NY programming, especially our Members Open Houses.
Discounts: Get discounts on ABC/NY programs, office supplies at STAPLES, payroll services from PAYCHEX, and services from BoardSource—with more to come.
