Grant Amounts Grants are awarded in the range of $5,000–$25,000. Project budget must show a one-to-one cash match of requested funds.
Review Process Applications will be reviewed by an independent peer panel of cultural, marketing, and tourism specialists. Grants are highly competitive; not all projects of merit will be funded.
What We Fund Generally, grants are provided to the following:
- Projects that stimulate community economic impact by attracting visitors, increasing expenditures, lengthening stays, or extending seasons.
- Collaborative/partnership projects involving multiple organizations across different sectors (arts, tourism, travel, hospitality, retail, etc.). Collaboration between arts and tourism groups is required. Collaboration between large and small arts groups is encouraged. Each partner is expected to actively participate in the development, management, promotion, and financial responsibility of the project.
- Projects that will increase visitors’ awareness of the arts and cultural heritage.
- Projects may market existing cultural heritage products to visitors in a new way or to a new tourism market OR may develop and market new cultural heritage products in a new way or to a new tourism market.
Funding Restrictions Generally, grants are not awarded for:
- Artistic programming expenses
- Major capital expenditures
- Existing staff positions or ongoing operating expenses
- Expenses extending beyond the specified grant period
