Shanta Thake
Associate Director,
Joe's Pub at the Public Theater,
New York, New York
Shanta Thake is the associate director at the world renowned Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, working to bring more than 700 diverse performances and artists to the downtown space every year, and recently programming the upcoming Joe’s Pub in the Park Series at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Ms.Thake has also worked for George C. Wolfe, most recently assistant directing the world premiere of This Is How It Goes, featuring Ben Stiller, Amanda Peet and Jeffrey Wright. Shanta serves on the board of the acclaimed theater company, Waterwell, and is an associate producer of Weimar New York, a cabaret event that juxtaposes the aesthetic and music of Weimar-era Berlin with that of the contemporary downtown performance scene in New York City.
