Karen Meyerhoff has been a museum professional for more than 25 years. She began her career at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute managing collections and exhibitions under the direction of Diana Vreeland. Later she spent nine years at the Museum of Modern Art where she designed and produced over 100 exhibitions including Ad Reinhardt, Dislocations, and Matisse in Morocco working closely with top curators William Rubin, John Sarkowski, Kirk Varnedoe, Robert Storr, Peter Galassi, and John Elderfield.

Karen joined the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in 1997. As managing director for exhibitions, collections and design she managed the planning and implementation of the international exhibition program and directed a staff of more than 70 museum professionals. During her tenure at the Guggenheim she has worked closely with world renowned architects as exhibition designers for New York exhibitions including Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Arata Isosaki, and Ernique Norten. She also produced retrospectives for Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Francesco Clemente, and Matthew Barney to name a few. She was the project director for the first major survey of American art ever to tour the People’s Republic of China in 2007.

In mid-2007 Karen took over development of earned income revenue streams for the Guggenheim Foundation. She is currently in charge of licensing, publications, and retail development as well as international traveling exhibition initiatives. During her brief tenure she has brought in two major motion picture contracts, increased the retail productivity by 15 percent and licensing productivity by 50 percent and is currently negotiating partnerships with leaders in the design and publishing industries.
