Dates and details on the 2009 Cultural Tourism Initiative will be posted later this year.
To apply for a Cultural Tourism Initiative grant, applicants must:
-
Attend one of the free CTI workshops held across the state at various locations, usually in January.
-
Submit a one-page Letter of Intent to Apply (the deadline is usually mid-February). Interested applicants must submit a Letter of Intent to Apply describing the proposed project, its partners (tourism, retail hospitality, etc.), and its projected economic impact. This step allows ABC/NY to better support applicants by providing specific feedback, guidance, and assistance before full proposals are developed. Only those organizations that receive a positive recommendation from ABC/NY may submit a full grant application.
-
Submit a full application (usually in early April). Upon positive recommendation, applicants may then complete the grant application, which will be e-mailed to them.
Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of cultural, marketing, and tourism specialists. The panel will work to ensure diversity in the types of projects and geographic regions receiving grants. The grant panel meets in May, and grantees are announced later that month. The grant period runs from July 1–June 30.
